Building a boat is easy

Not all boat builders are experienced, you do have some novice boat builders who are very excited with the fact that they are going to design and build their own boat.  They get information from friends to use the 3D software and they go in for the software too.  But you will agree that getting information and buying boat designs will not help to get the ultimate benefit from the product.  You need to know a wee bit about the building process to achieve great success.

So what happens next is they get totally confused with the hundreds of designs that are available in the software and finally end up choosing the wrong design that is hard to build. This is a very sad situation because the builder will not be able to get the satisfaction of building a perfect boat.

So the novice builder could do with a bit of advice before choosing the boat design.  It is best recommended that you choose the drift boat design.  This has great looks and is much easier to build than the other designs.  Though it is easy to build it is meant only for drifting down river, you can’t row on a calm lake or move up stream with it. So if you are planning a down river boating and fishing expedition, you could choose this design.

If the drift is not your choice then you can go in for the Grand Banks Dory design which is also easy to build and ideal for all lake, river and ocean conditions as well.  The snag in these designs is that they have less power and are meant mostly for slower speed levels.

Finally if you are looking for something that can row as well as be powered perfectly, you need to choose the Carolina Dory.  This would be a wise choice because this design boat can be powered modestly while at the same time it can be easily rowed.
If you are out for a family expedition the wisest choice would be the Carolina Dory.  It would make you and your family comfortable and safe while out on the long stretches of water.  They are also very easy; in fact, they are the easiest to build boat design.

Be very sure that you follow the instructions given in the 3D boat design software with all care and once you have designed your boat, check the instructions once again before starting to use material and build, because once you have built the boat it has to sail and not sink!
