How to Build a Boat
Anyone who has a little knowledge on the basics of floating can build a boat.   If you are building a wooden boat, get some planks made from cypress, oak, pine or other trees. The dimensions of the plank will be determined on the type and shape of wood you are using.
To begin, make a flat bottom for your sail boat.  You can build your boat from different trees but the stem has to be made from white oak. Then, you have to make two sideboards. Measure, saw and plane them properly. From here, the mould is the next thing to make, and you can use old material for this. Make the stem board but ensure you leave space for stringers, and then nail the side boards followed by the moulds. Ensure that you nail the moulds in a manner that they will be 90° to the center of the boat. Fasten the moulds and nail them permanently to the boat using galvanized nails.
The next step to build a boat is to nail the bottom of the boat with the stringer and sideboard.  Make the joint between the boats very tight to prevent caulking turn it over and put the seats. Make cypress seats to make the boat comfortable. These are the basic steps you should follow to build a boat.
Some boat design kits come with partially finished parts and you will only need to assemble them to get your boat read. Other only come with the instructions of making your own parts and you will have to buy the materials, measure them, and join them to make your boat. A good alternative would be to buy a top of the line design software to help you in building the boat. You can build a boat within a short time if you get all the materials required and are dedicated to the work.
