Different types of fishing boat plans
People who love fishing use different type of boats. And different type of tastes has different boat plans. Fishing is an addiction for people both commercially and as an amateur and thus they desire to acquire their own boat to their specification and need. But when somebody desires to acquire a boat for fishing he has to understand the purpose of it. Whether the boat will be utilized for sports, fun or for commercial purposes. And again whether he will use the fishing boat in the lake, river or in the open sea.
For starters you can opt for the recreational angler, for shallow water fishing you will need a flat boat or bay boat, which is 24” under the water. For fishing inside the sea you will need a watercraft to meet the extra ordinary demands, which will meet the environmental needs. These boat plans are usually with enclosed console and are powered.
In the earlier days boats were built in the traditional fashion and in wood. But with the scarcity of wood availability people have changed to either fiberglass or Aluminum. Fiberglass boats sustain a capacity up to 100 tons and are normally 25 meters in length whereas the bigger capacity boats are built on steel and are larger in size.
Commercial fishing boat plans usually known as trawlers are more specialized and run on approved standard specifications, as they have to stay in the sea for days together. In the Western Europe the tradition is still to construct compact boats with high power of catching.
 Recently the Pontoon boats have become popular because it carries only two persons and is utilized for fishing in the rivers and lakes. The size is approximately 10ft to 12ft in length and can be assembled at a short notice. There are still more varieties of boats for sea, which are, designed as V-bottom Carolina dories, Pacific power dories and V- bottom console boats.
