Boats and Designs - Material is the Most Important
As little kids we all must have made paper boats and floated them on water. That was when we were kids and couldn’t understand stuff too well. Now we all can understand how important it is to use quality material for good boats and designs. If you think that a boat just needs to flat and so this fuss about its material is unnecessary, then you are missing the obvious point here. Floating is not the need of boat; it’s the function of it.
There are different categories of boat that are used for various different functions. There are racing boats that are used by professionals. There are voyager boats that are used for long distance journey. There are different boats for river and seas and there are luxury boats too. So when there are so many different categories for boats there obviously needs to be some differentiation in the way these boats are built.
Different boats and designs play important part in their functions and usability. A sailing boat can not be fit for a boat racer and vice versa. Boats can be made of different materials so you need to study and research well to choose the material for your boat according to your needs.
Most people start with wooden boat for the simple reason that they are generally most economical. However, most professional racers use aluminum boats as they are lightweight and very durable. Aluminum boats are costlier than the wooden ones but then their life expectancy is also better.
If you are willing to spend more money on your boats and designs, you can get boats made of even lighter material such as fiberglass. However, fiberglass has a disadvantage that it can’t withstand strong chemicals and at the rate that industry chemical waste is being drained in the rivers and seas, it is always a threat.
