The hull design is structured by taking into account the material to be used in the boat. A wooden boat will have a different design than a steel bodied boat. This type of hull design is used for speedboats but is unsuitable for rough waters. Displacement hull design is made with the principle of displacing water equivalent to the weight of the boat.
